There was a substantial improvement in turnout for this 2nd match for our SML team - but then almost anything is numerically better than the 2-strong squad that was at M1! This time we managed 42.5pts but still 7th(of 7).However,after 2 rounds,as Bracknell failed to travel to Deangate,we have rocketed up the table from 14th to 13th(of 14!).
On a soggy day,new Kingsmeadow Duty Manager,Rob Smith set a SP PB of 10.55;Chuck Isetts posted a personal inaugural M65 PB over 100;U17 Jay Buckler-Picton made his SML debut over 400;Chris Hall(22.7) & Maris Kuklis(51.2)(non-scoring under the SML BAL ruling) honed their sprinting with wins in the adjoining DivTwo A strings;and others to answer the plaintive cry were M45s Geoff van Klaveren(3A JT) & Mike May(100/2B 200),U17 Gordon Lester & Luke McMaster.
Oh - and M & D staged another mini-rescue act as starter/marksman!
